In Kozagawa-cho, a neighboring town of Kushimoto-cho, you can enjoy various cherry blossoms from late February to late April every year.
※The best time to see varies depending on the climate

Kumanozakura (mid-March to late March)

Kumanozakura (mid-March to late March)

The cherry blossoms "Kumanozakura", which have been certified as a new species for the first time in about 100 years in Japan, can be observed throughout Kozagawa-cho.
Kumanozakura in Kozagawa-cho is often in full bloom around mid-March, and is famous as an early blooming cherry. The color of the flower is light pink, and the tip is dark pink. Since the leaves do not appear when the flowers bloom, beautiful pink flowers stand out, making the cherry blossoms suitable for ornamental use.

Type specimen tree of Ikenoyama

When publishing a paper identifying Kumanozakura as a new species, the tree on which the specimen was collected will be the "Ikenoyama type specimen tree" native to Ikenoyama, Kozagawa-cho. It is a valuable Kumanozakura only in Kozagawa-cho and only one in the world.

Somei Yoshino (late March to early April)

Cherry blossoms on the lakeside of Nanakawa Dam
It has been selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots, and about 3,000 Yoshino cherry trees planted by local residents over 5 km around, attract many cherry blossom visitors every year. At night, you can also see the lit up Yoshino cherry tree.

Kawazu cherry blossoms (late February to early March)

The cherry blossoms that are in full bloom in the town are Kawazu cherry blossoms.

Tsurukawa Park

16 Kawazu cherry trees are planted in Tsurukawa Park in Tsurukawa Ward, making it a spot to appreciate Kawazu cherry blossoms. In addition, it is lit up at night, and you can appreciate the fantastic Kawazu cherry blossoms.
